Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen, located at the heart of Granville Street (on Granville and 11th) recently opened up over the summer. I've never experienced Lebanese food and was so happy to get the opportunity to try the menu and learn more.
Lebanese food consists of mostly shareable, tapa style dishes with a variety of dips and bread. The owner of Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen, described his restaurant as a home-style dining experience that is best shared with others. I've listed a couple of my favorite items from the menu below :)

Most of the menu and Lebanese food in general is Vegetarian and Gluten Free. Mo uses fresh herbs and ingredients to create all his dishes. My favorite dish by far was the Fried Cauliflower, which was tossed in tahini and pomegranate dressing :) It had a nice savory and subtle tangy flavor to it. It was so addicting to munch on!

The Muhammara, red pepper dip topped with walnuts and bread crumbs, was definitely my favorite dip! It is savory and sweet and I love how the walnuts give it some texture and crunch. It goes great with the bread.

Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen does have a couple items on the menu with meat in it as well! All the meat that they use are local, hormone-free and halal. The meat is so well seasoned with their homemade spices and herb mix (it reminded me a lot of Greek food which I loved!) :) The Mixed Grill dish was a combination of the 3 other Grilled Mezza options on the menu, which was great to sample the different grilled meat skewers that they offered. It consisted of Shish Tawook (grilled chicken breast), Kafta (grilled lean ground lamb) and Lahm Mishwi (grilled beef). The Kafta and Shish Tawook was my favorite, it went so well with the garlic dip, plus they were both SOOO tender and juicy!

The Tabbouli salad really refreshing! It's a good light salad and you can definitely taste the fresh parsley :) It's mixed with tomatoes, onions and a bunch of herbs & spices, which really brings out the flavor in the dish.

A big warm thank you to Mo for me! The restaurant is following all safety protocols (wearing masks, physically distancing the tables, sanitizing, etc). But I loved how understanding Mo was in ensuring I was comfortable while I was in the restaurant for the short period of time waiting for the take-out. Can't wait to visit & sit in the restaurant next time :) The place looks so pretty & home-y.

I had an amazing experiencing trying Lebanese food for the first time! It makes me eager to branch out and experience new cuisines. All the food was so flavorful and filling! Mazahr Lebanese Kitchen just recently got their liquor license as well! Mo and his team is currently building and expanding on their drink menu. They currently have some awesome brewed teas and coffee available, along with a growing wine list :)
