Starting off 2019 with trying new cuisines and working with amazing companies! I got an exciting opportunity to stop by this cute, modern Indian restaurant and try some amazing Indian food.

A big thanks to Siddhartha's Indian Kitchen for inviting me to one of the best dinners yet! Not only was the food amazing, but Sid and his staff was so nice. To me, service makes the meal so much more enjoyable, and Siddhartha's staff did just that. I had a great evening, dining and chatting with the owner, Sid, about the restaurant. I felt so spoiled! :)

Our waiter, Sarthak (StarTrek) started our night off with a round of cocktails, offering us a chance to try all the cocktails on the menu. We ended up grabbing a Mango Mojito and Caesar, both very well made.

StarTrek was very helpful, giving us plenty of suggestions on what to order and giving enough time for us to decide. The potato naan that he suggested we try tasted amazing and was a great appetizer!

The butter chicken was so delicious, with a good amount of chicken in it, as well. The sauce was really flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The portion size is just right for two people to share.

I highly recommend getting the Thali - a circular, sample platter - which includes chicken and lamb curry, shahi paneer, daal makhani, pea pilau and butter naan. It was really nice to sample and dip the naan in all the different sauces. We also ordered the Tandoori Combo Platter, which had tandoori chicken, tiger prawns and grilled vegetables. It was super delicious as well.

Sid and his staff really had us fed well. Not only did they make sure we were full, but insisted that we try their dessert as well. They treated us with so much food that we had to pack half of our food to-go (which made for a great lunch the next day). We had a mango rice pudding for dessert, with strong, natural mango flavors and just the right sweetness. It's garnished with coconut flakes, dried cranberries and gold flakes. Once we finished, they asked if we would like to try another dessert as well (their hospitality and kindness was above and beyond).

I had such amazing conversations with both Sid and his staff. You can really tell that Sid treats his staff as family, which gives off a nice and warm family feel when you dine in their restaurant. I got to hear Sid's story about moving to Vancouver, 10 years ago, and got inspired by his drive to open a restaurant, discovering their was a gap in the market for Indian cuisine. With the support of his family, Siddhartha's Indian Kitchen has been running for approximately 8 years.

It's so inspiring to hear that Sid not only cares about his staff, but wants them to grow as well. One of his staff members is studying to become a graphic designer, and Sid gave him the opportunity to help develop their website and social media pages. Not only is Sid supportive of his staff, but his community as well. He's very in tune with what's happening in the community and has amazing relationships with restaurants around him.

It's so rare to find a restaurant with such a great culture and support system. Siddhartha's Indian Kitchen not only has amazing food, but amazing service and genuine people. A great spot for family gatherings, date night or catching up with friends!

I will definitely be back! :)

Hey, I'm Meg

Born and raised in Vancouver, B.C. I often find it difficult to take a step back from my busy life and enjoy what the world has to offer. I am constantly looking for outlets to express my creative mind and passions, whether it is attending local events, looking at the latest fashion trends, travelling or eating until you get a food coma.
